Rated 1 out of 5 by from I bought this funnel toda I bought this funnel today. At the store I searched the packaging repeatedly for what temperature it's safe to use it up to, couldn't find it. Figured I'd come check the website which would surely have more data. Not only did I not find the data on the website, I found many other people asking the same question, and still the data having not been supplied by Wilton. Have to say I'm really sad to see them dropping the ball on this one. It's labelled as a "Candy Funnel", and anyone who works with "candy" and not just "chocolate" knows that that means higher temps. If it is marketed as a "Candy Thermometer" then they really shouldn't be afraid to put a temp rating on it. If it's NOT rated to "candy" temps, then it shouldn't be titled that. Can't figure out why they are allowing this disparity. I'm going to run a really hot batch through it and see what happens, I'll post back to let you all know. One star right now for leaving out the most significant product data of all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I almost dreaded making c I almost dreaded making caramels because of the mess it made. This funnel has changed that completely! As suggested by another reviewer, I too put an elastic band over the trigger/funnel to make it spring back after each pour and it worked brilliantly. Hot caramel did not stick AT ALL and no mess!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from it works - and even better for molded cake pops I was really hoping this product would work as a faster and easier alternative to spooning candy into molds or trying to use a bag (which never works so well because you can't reheat the candy in the bag - the bag can't handle it. It takes a little getting used to the action of the thumb control - when you stop it, it pushes more out - but once you get the hang of it it works well. It did work for the candy melts, but, as with a bag, the candy hardens in the funnel, so that complicates it a bit. Also be sure to have a cup of some sort standing by so you can put the funnel down in it. What this really worked great for though was with cake batter. I was making some molded cake pops for Valentine's Day in the Wilton silicone heart mold pan. The hearts are small and as with other of these type of pans, it can be tough and time-consuming to get your batter into all of the little cavities, but not with this funnel. The batter went into the molds quickly and easily - and neatly! No big messes around the edges. It was easy to refill from my bowl of cake batter (much easier than refilling a bag) and it was quite easy to make them all pretty equal in size. I will use it again for my candy molding, but definitely every time for my little silicone molds. Also easy to clean - the thumb control piece comes completely apart from the funnel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The funnel is easy to use The funnel is easy to use and pours into the mold without making a mess. I have added a rubber band to the trigger to make the process easier. Now when I release the trigger, the plunger automatically blocks the hole to stop the flow.**
